Pain Management: You may use over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen as directed by your dentist. For more severe pain, your dentist might prescribe stronger medication.

Swelling and Bruising: Swelling is normal and may be minimized by applying a cold pack or a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel to the cheek near the extraction site.
